What does the day involve?
This one day silver bangle making course lead by jewellery and silversmithing tutor Krista Thomson will introduce you skills and techniques required to make your own silver sterling bangles.
You will learn how to size bangles, how to solder, texture the metal, cut out a charm, and also polish your designs. You will be provided with all the silver required to make two stacking bangles and a charm to accompany them.
This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. For those with more experience, it is an opportunity to develop your skills further.

Experience required:
None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your own bangles from start to finish. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be 16+

You will be given:
- Two lengths 21cm of 2 mm silver sterling round wire
- 10 cm of 1.2mm silver round wire
- 3 cm x 3 cm 0.8mm silver sheet
What to bring:
For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any PPE such as masks. Also pack your own lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. We regret we can’t offer tea and coffee at the moment due to Coronavirus so make sure you bring enough refreshments and supplies to keep you going during the day.
