Saturday 10th June and Saturday 24th June 10-5pm 2022
Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford.
Unit F9 The Mayford Centre,
WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE
In this class we will look at hand manufacturing a full eternity band from scratch using traditional techniques.
Starting with stock silver, you will learn to roll out the silver to exact measurements using rolling mills to form a band to a specified size in order to fit a specified number and size of stones.
Once we have made the ring blank we will look at methods for marking out the band evenly for the exact amount of stones required and to the correct setting tolerances, before drilling the holes and preparing the ring for stone setting.
You will then move onto how to set a full eternity band using the decorative French or fishtail style of setting and using traditional hand tools and techniques. This will include the use of decorative cut down engraved embellishments.
As always with advance stone setting, we strongly recommend you set aside some time after your course to practice the skills you learn to develop your technique.
We will be in touch the week of your course with full details and directions and any other helpful information we think will be of use for the day.
The class is designed for those with basic jewellery making experience wishing to build their knowledge of traditional mounting skills.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
All materials and tools for the class will be provided on the day including CZ stones and silver.
