What does the day involve?:
Krista will take you through a fun filled day of making your very own silver earrings and pendants. She will provide demonstrations on a variety of different techniques to add textures to your silver such as the rolling mill, texture hammers, the hydraulic press and punches. You will also learn how to pierce (cut) and solder the silver and form it into shape. You will learn a wide range of jewellery making skills through the day to create your own handmade jewellery designs.

Experience required:
None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your own designs from start to finish. If you have some experience you can develop your skills further using more advanced techniques to create your pieces. The welcoming workshop environment makes it ideal for beginners also.

5. To allow for us to socially distance a can only allow 5 students and one tutor within the workshop at one time.

The cost of this course includes all the silver required to create a pair or earrings and a pendant. There is also additional silver available to purchase in the workshop if you wish to create more designs.
You will be provided with:
20 cm 0.9mm silver round wire for earring posts or hooks
5cm x 5cm 0.8mm silver sheet
20 1mm silver round wire for jump rings
What to bring:
For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Please bring any PPE such as masks. Also pack your own lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. We regret we can’t offer tea and coffee at the moment due to Coronavirus so make sure you bring enough refreshments and supplies to keep you going during the day.
