Saturday 12th September 10-5pm 2020
Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford.
Unit F9 The Mayford Centre,
What does the day involve?
Jewellers have used wax carved models to produce masters for casting for over 500 years. In this one day class we will look at how to use the skills associated with wax carving to produce a professional wax for a fitted wedding band tailored to an already existing engagement ring.
The skills covered will include measuring and marking out waxes for accuracy, sizing and fitting them, how to use jewellers tools for traditional wax carving, tolerances and shrinkages to be considered before casting, considerations and practicalities of spewing waxes for casting and recommendations for casting companies to use for lost wax casting.
This is a fantastic workshop to introduce you to wax carving, and how to accurately create your desired shape within the wax so it is ready for casting.
Please do not book if you do not agree with our Coronavirus procedures.
Some workshop experience is beneficial so you understand the concepts behind casting when explained, and how it can benefit you with future projects. If you are unsure, please email us at email@example.com to discuss any queries, we are always here to help.
