WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE?
Join us for a fun and creative jewellery making experience where you'll design and create your very own chunky sterling silver ring from start to finish. Perfect for complete beginners, this hands-on workshop will guide you through every stage of the silversmithing process in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Perfect for men or women seeking a thick chunky silver ring.
Using a strip of thick sterling silver sheet, you'll learn traditional jewellery making techniques as you transform the raw silver into a beautiful finished ring. Choose from a range of textures and patterns to create a unique design that reflects your personal style, making your piece truly unique.
Throughout the day, you'll be shown each stage step by step, including:
- Learning how to size your finger and calculate your size
- How to add a texture or pattern of your choice
- How to prepare your silver ring for soldering
- Soldering techniques to solder your ring together
- Shaping and forming your ring
- Filing, refining and finishing your piece
- Polishing your ring to a professional shine
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with one handmade sterling silver chunky ring that you have designed and crafted yourself, along with the knowledge and confidence gained from learning traditional jewellery making skills.
Our fully equipped workshop provides all the tools and materials you'll need, and expert tuition guiding you through the stages step by step. No previous jewellery making, artistic or creative experience is required, just come along and enjoy learning something new.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None, all abilities are welcomed. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be aged 16 or over. Learners aged 14–16 are welcome only when accompanied by a full-paying parent.

One piece of silver sheet 1.2mm thick, 9cm long, 1 cm wide
WHAT TO BRING:
For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of.
